Asterisk Log Files

The Asterisk Logfiles module allows you to view the log files that your telephone system generates. To most users, this will be useless because you need to know how to read Asterisk log files. For any advanced users, this can be very useful to debug issues or get more information on what is happening.

Logging In - Click on the Asterisk Logfiles button and you should see a screen like this.

Viewing Logs - From here, we can pick which log file we want to view as well as how many lines. In our example, we are going to pick the “full” log and the last “500” lines of log files. After we fill out the fields, press the “Show” button.

Your system is setup to rotate log files every night at midnight and keep a couple days worth of logs. So, “full” is the logs for today. You can also see the logs for any other day that are stored on your system.

You can also pick the log type. The option “full” will show you all Asterisk events that you have setup to be logged.
